Park 6 Transportation Department Celebrates First Student CDL Graduate

CODY, WY — The Park County School District 6 Transportation Department is proud to announce a significant milestone: the successful graduation of its first student with a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). McCoy Banks has officially earned his Class “B” CDL after passing all required examinations, positioning him to take advantage of a wide range of employment opportunities in the Cody area and beyond.

This achievement not only marks personal success for McCoy but also highlights the growing impact of the Park 6 Classroom 2 Careers initiative, which is redefining career-connected learning in classrooms from kindergarten through 12th grade. By integrating real-world skills and career exploration into everyday instruction, students like McCoy are empowered to step confidently into their futures.

Governor Mark Gordon’s RIDE (Reimagining and Innovating the Delivery of Education) initiative further supports career exploration and skill-building across Wyoming. The Park 6 Transportation Department’s CDL program is a powerful example of RIDE’s vision in action, offering students hands-on, high-impact learning experiences that translate directly into workforce readiness.

“We are incredibly proud of McCoy and all he has accomplished,” said Jim Perhinger, Director of Transportation. “This is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing many more students take advantage of the opportunities our CDL program offers.”

Congratulations, McCoy Banks, on this exceptional achievement. Your success paves the way for others and reflects the power of vision, opportunity, and community support.
