We are grateful to continue our Classroom to Careers partnership with Pollen Landscapes. This month, their team worked with our 1st Grade students to provide hands-on, active learning experiences aligned with Wyoming’s 1st Grade Life Science standards.

In this activity, students created bird feeding cones by covering pine cones in peanut butter and plant seeds—learning how animals depend on their environment and how people can help support wildlife during the winter months. This connects to Wyoming’s science standard 1-LS1-1: Use materials to design a solution to a human problem by mimicking how plants and/or animals use their external parts to help them survive, grow, and meet their needs, as students explored how food helps living things survive.
Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to real-world applications and careers while deepening their understanding through authentic, engaging instruction.

Thank you to Pollen Landscapes for your continued support of our students and schools!
