Livingston Elementary Educators Present at National Science Teaching Association Conference in Minneapolis

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Cody, WY — Teresa Merager and Greer Clark, educators from Glenn Livingston Elementary, were honored to present at the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) Conference held last week in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their presentation highlighted innovative, rural-centered science instruction as part of the STEM Strong Learning Cohort, a program dedicated to advancing science and engineering education in rural communities.

Merager and Clark shared their work titled “Extreme Weather: Avalanches,” an engaging elementary science unit that integrates the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) with cross-curricular learning. Their session showcased how students can explore avalanche science through hands-on investigations, engineering challenges, literacy connections, and real-world problem-solving.

“This was an incredible opportunity to share the great things happening in Wyoming education,” said Clark. “Rural schools like ours are doing powerful, innovative work, and being part of the STEM Strong cohort has given us tools and a network to continue expanding opportunities for our students.”

Their presentation represents not only Glenn Livingston Elementary’s commitment to high-quality, standards-aligned science instruction, but also the strong momentum across Wyoming to elevate STEM learning and prepare students to think critically about the natural world.
